Richard Gere is the only guest at a remote coastal inn run by Diane Lane, and there's a hurricane on the way. Surely you see where this is going because "Nights in Rodanthe" is based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks ("The Notebook"). The stars make the story tolerable, but be sure to check your cynicism at the multiplex door.
